BRING IT ON

This is a very original comedy starring The hot Kirsten Dunst. It's about a cheerleader who has just taken over as cheerleader captain for a very snobby girl named "Big Red". The Cheerleading team has won lots of awards, unfortunately the Football team sucks. On Torrance's first day as captain, their star cheerleader is injured and they must now get a replacement. Enter The lovely and hott Eliza Dushku (Buffy the vampire slayer), The new kid. Eventually she joins the squad. The teams demonstrates their cheers for her, and boy does she have a rude awakening for them. She reveals to Torrance, that the "Toro's" cheers were stolen from an inner city East Compton cheerleading team named "The Clovers". Now the "Toros" must create new and original cheers to compete with "The Clovers."

At last, a new original teen comedy. The plot is very original. There are very few movies that have to do with Cheerleaders. The acting is great in this, especially by Gabrielle Union (Deliver us from Eva) and hip-hop trio "Blaque". They star as the underrated cheerleaders for "The Clovers". Gabrielle has a charisma and charm she graces to the big screen and it's one of a kind. Kirsten Dunst as always is energetic, likeable, and very sexy. It's no big surprise I liked "Bring It On", because the many cheerleaders provided great eye-candy for me. Me being a guy, I can say this was quite a treat for me. Newcomer Jesse Bradford (Clockstoppers, Swimfan) is hilarious and gives a great onscreen chemistry with Dunst. I've always found Dushku's work to be good. She was the evil slayer in the "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" series in case you didn't know. Finally, we finish this good review with praise for the ending. The ending is non-formulaic. The "Toros" don't win! That's a great formula that was greatly used in "Rocky," which is a great change. Congratulations Kirsten.

I liked "Bring it on", but it's not without its flaws. It has a huge amount of fluff to it which gave off a "chick flick" vibe. Girls will love the muscular guys, and air-headed talk. I didn't. But I loved the girls! Sorry. Another flaw was the way "Bring it on" resorted to "Bathroom Humor". Towards the end a nervous cheerleader yaks on her coach. What would've been funny was when the cheerleader vomited and we cut to the disgusted cheerleaders watching. Yet we're submitted to watching the vomit splash on the coaches face. Eck! Bad effort.

A fun, dumb teenage romp that will both appeal to the girls and guys.
