To say that this is a cool movie would be an understatement. I was very curious to see whether this movie was action or horror, when in fact, it was a hybrid of both. This is the first and possibly only French movie I've ever seen, and I gotta tell ya, if they can make movies like this, viva la France! Well, let's go down the line for this movie, eh? There is a rash spree of brutal mutilations being done by a mysterious beast. Villagers and such are being mutilated like animals and the village is on a mission to hunt it down. Two mysterious strangers stroll into town and instantly change the town's view of the mysterious murders in the forest. One man, a settler, is also a scientist whom with his silent Native American blood brother played by Mark Dacascos (Only the Strong) decides to hunt down the mysterious force and discover there is an entirely big conspiracy behind it. This reminded me a lot of a more superior "Green Hornet" type of action adventure, resembling much of the characteristics of the main characters. Throughout the entire film, we get to delve into this odd, strange, erotic journey where the two men must meet the townsfolk and stop the force once and for all. Now, I'm never one to ruin the ending or punch line to a movie, but mind you, this is a whopper. The movie has some ingenious action scenes including this great sword fight in the end with this cool sword and an excellent killing spree that is very superior to most action movies in Hollywood today.

Now, don't expect much action coming from this movie, there are about three or four long action scenes and most of the movie tends to drag and is very plot driven. A hardcore fan for mindless action movies might not like this much, but if you're willing to follow the plot, you will be in for a treat with the actual fight scenes.

All in all a surprisingly great action movie with a plot driven character strong base. If you're willing to appreciate the characters and plot, watch this little gem.
